You have established me here, on this rock;
You have set my face towards you.
I rest in your confidence like resting in armor, facing the enemy line;
Like the stance of a warrior, blade drawn, staring down his rival.
On your love, my feet are firm, I am set within you.
The invitation to fear beckons to me,
But my heart feels your hand upon me;
And I embrace the peace of your spirit.
The shadow of your greatness is cast before me,
I am filled with the joy of the conquest at hand.
These arms you have trained to swing;
My breath is measured, my feet strong;
I trust in the training of your words and believe in your preparation,
I reject the need to be nervous.
Because you are at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
There is nothing in my ear but the calm in your voice.
You’ve raised me up, taught me yourself;
My heart rolls with fearless patience before this day.
You are my prize, the joy of my heart;
I have my reward, I am the most satisfied man.
I sing light-hearted melodies in my heart as a taunt to the enemy;
I roil them in how I am undaunted in confidence.
I smile as I see the defeat that has already befallen them.
Your spear you have set within me,
Your voice surrounds me as I stand.
You are my rock, my high ground,
You have set this warrior on high.
